Mom’s Magic Cleaner is a homemade cleaning solution that powers through most messes and costs just pennies to make.
1 gallon warm water
1/2 cup household ammonia (lemon ammonia is preferred)
1/4 cup distilled white vinegar, 5% strength
1/8 cup baking soda (1/8 cup equals 2 tablespoons)
Mix all ingredients in a small bucket or similar container. Give it a quick stir just to mix the ingredients and dissolve the baking soda. To use, wet a cloth or rag in the solution and wring it out fairly dry. Or you can fill a clean spray bottle with it, but be sure to shake well before each use. Apply to soiled area and wipe or scrub until soil is removed. Rinse with clear water if you wish, but it’s usually not necessary.
Be sure to read the cautions on the labels of all ingredients, both for your personal safety and to understand what you cannot use this on – for example, fabrics, natural stone, aluminum, and unpainted wood, among others. Always test a small, hidden spot before using it on something you have not used it on before.
